This project has been support by funding provided by the State Government of Western Australia, through the State Library’s Better Beginnings program. We have produced the following children’s book that you can read, talk, sing, write and play with your child.

Better Beginnings is a Western Australian family literacy program that connects families with books through free reading packs.

Our beautifully illustrated books cover three beloved festivals: Lunar New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival. 

Each book is designed to engage young minds with captivating stories, lively conversations, fun arts & crafts, essential vocabulary, and delightful songs.

These storybooks are not just educational but also a wonderful way to celebrate and learn about these important cultural festivals. Whether you choose a physical book or an electronic PDF copy, your child will enjoy a rich, immersive experience in both languages. We are proud to offer these books to help foster a love of reading and cultural understanding from an early age.
